It's Oceansize

Sexta-feira acordei, e como sempre, peguei o celular para ver as atualizacoes do twitter ainda na cama. Estava meio zonza quando li algo que realmente me fez despertar rapidamente. Atraves do @RealOceansize, a banda informou aos fas que a banda esta se separando. Dai, eu como grande apreciadora do som da banda, quis registrar aqui o quanto eles representam e farao falta.

Nao sei bem quando comecei a escuta-los, so lembro que na epoca eu relutei bastante, porque tinha sido sugestao de um amigo que vivia se gabando por ser o responsavel por apresentar sempre coisas boas. O fato eh que relutei apenas ate escutar a primeira musica do album Everyone into position (2005), que chama-se Charm offensive.



Simplesmente fiquei enlouquecida e queria ouvir repetidas vezes sem parar. Tanto essa como Heaven Alive conseguiam despertar sentimentos inexplicaveis ao ouvi-las. E assim eu havia me apaixonado perdidamente por eles.

Lembro-me que todos os dias de manha bem cedo, enquanto ia no onibus pro meu estagio, ia escutando todo o album enquanto lia paginas de Harry Potter. Devo dizer que a combinacao foi muito interessante. Pra mim, essa ficou sendo a soundtrack do filme, hehe.

A formacao da banda inglesa estava em Mike Vennart (guitarra e vocal), Steve Durose (guitarra e vocal tambem), Gambler (guitarra e teclado), Steve Hodson (substituto do Jon Ellis no baixo e que tambem tocava teclado) e Mark Heron (bateria). Bom, nao entendo bem de musica pra explicar como funciona o som deles, ha quem diga que classifica-los apenas como prog nao resolve. Eles sao influenciados por muita coisa: Jane's Addiction (de onde inclusive saiu o nome da banda), Pink Floyd, Black Sabath entre outras. Ja sairam em turne com varias bandas, inclusive com meus queridos do Porcupine Tree.

Antes do Everyone into position veio o Effloresce (2003) sendo Amputee a minha favorita desse album.

Seu ultimo album foi Self-Preserved While Bodies Float Up (2010), que ainda nao tive a chance de escutar.

Lamento o fim da banda, mesmo sabendo que seus integrantes continuarao produzindo sons muito bons tambem. Gostaria de ter assistido algum show deles, tudo o que me resta agora eh assistir os DVD's do Feed to Feed. Ao inves de ficar mexendo em casa de marimbondo (nem sei se essa palavra esta correta), sugiro uma alternativa para isso. Pegue um bom cd com músicas aleatórias. Uma hora voce vai se deparar com aquilo que estava procurando, mas nao sabia o que era. Hoje funcionou com Jamiroquai. Adoro!
